Priceless

Been doing some research on the old co-creation thing for a presentation at work and came across Mastercard's priceless site. The site gives you two videos to watch (they don't work on Mac/Firefox) and then asks you to participate by writing the script.

I can't help feeling it's not much fun.

Not only that, the entries become property of Mastercard (no, fuck-off) and I can even argue which film should be the winner--my stake in participating is down to some faceless pr company's deciding if they like my script:-(

Still, I'm sure many budding Bernbachs will take part and the offer of making your mark "officially" will compel enough entries.

Probably a lot more fun is to just do one yourself and whack it on Google video for all to enjoy. I found the following with a quick search for "Mastercard". I love the blow-job one:-)

Magistrates court

backfromdevizes.jpg Well, am on the train back to London after an expensive and frustrating day in Wiltshire. Back when I was commuting to Salisbury I picked up a speeding ticket and looking at the evidence paperwork the rozzers sent I thought I had spotted a procedural mistake.

Anyhoo -- banged to rights, guilty, guilty, guilty.

Still, the court was in Devizes which was nice, and very helpful and friendly they were too. After the verdict I treated myself to a Pint of 6X, a cigar, a beef, suet and 6X pudding and another pint of 6X and got some reading in. Sort of a mini-holiday from the daily London family thing...

Playing with Spout -- very interesting. If you've ever had an opinion about a film you'll love this...

Also, quite an interesting way to redefine an experience. As far as I can tell, it's a video shop, but the experience is nothing like HMV:-)

Family

Just had breakfast with Clementine. It feels like I haven't seen my family in ages

Hopefully won't be working so late next week...

Flicking through coverflow this afternoon found a copy of RunDMC's Raising Hell which I thought I had deleted ages ago.

Damn that's a good album (just had "walk this way")

James Governor's MonkChips: You gotta love the French: Killing the DMCA and stamping on roach motels

I love James' writing. He describes the French as equal opportunities troublemakers -- très fin, mon cher;-)

Turns out Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. thanks lipsum

KM with ambient knowledge

Great piece on ambient information at Headshift (I feel so left out not making it to ETECH seems like everybody I read online was there...).

the classic open plan layout gives management far too much latitude for interruption and individuals and groups too little room for private work

Well worth the time to get through the whole thing.

Now that's what I call handling. Check out the piles of logs :-)
