it had to happen

I spent a couple of hours this evening looking for Apoa after she said goodbye to her friend at a bus stop and proceeded to wait for a bus that was on strike. She had no power left on her mobile so it was like the old days when we couldn't just phone each other to solve things like this. A kind neighbour drove me off to look for her. The tube station supervisor was great. He called the police for me to get a number to tell to the network operations centre so they could alert everyone at the tube stations. As he was doing this, I got a call from the very nice people in a Turkish restaurant where she'd gone after getting halfway home. Meanwhile Ohna had phoned the police. They were really helpful and are coming round tomorrow to talk to Apoa about it all.
